Purchasing and Logistics Department Chief O
2006 Halfway

I work closely with everyone on-site to make improvements to my daily work.

INTERVIEW

What made you decide to join the company?

In my previous job, I was involved in forklift and picking work, so I felt that this was an environment where I could utilize my past experience, which is what prompted me to join the company. Another big attraction was that I could take ample time off on weekends, national holidays, the Obon holiday, and the New Year's holidays. I chose this company because I thought it was a place where I could work with peace of mind while valuing my private time.

What is your current job?

Currently, I mainly work on shipping using a forklift, but I also handle the arrangements for large shipments and the arrangement of charter flights. Another important part of my job is coordinating the work so that it proceeds efficiently according to the type of product and the shipping destination. I work closely with my colleagues on-site to ensure smooth shipping.

What is rewarding about your job?

It may seem like the same tasks are repeated every day, but in reality, no two days are exactly the same. The types, quantities, and order of products to be shipped vary, so we work while considering efficient methods and arrangements each time. When we are able to ship smoothly within the limited time, or when a creative method works, we feel a great sense of accomplishment. Being able to work together with everyone on-site to improve our daily work is one of the rewarding aspects of this job.

What's good about SHIMADA?

I think the good thing about our company is that it is easy to communicate across departmental boundaries. I have many opportunities to talk not only with the shipping site, but also with sales, purchasing, and logistics staff on a daily basis, and there is an atmosphere where I can consult with them easily. Since we can immediately call on each other when we are in trouble on site, work progresses smoothly and there is little stress in relationships. I feel that this open atmosphere also leads to an easy working environment.

Message for job seekers

There are many kind seniors, and it is a homely workplace where everyone helps each other and works in a friendly atmosphere. Even if you don't understand something, you can feel free to ask questions, so even those with no experience can start with confidence. Let's work together and have fun!
