There are opportunities and environments to interact with people from other departments.
What made you decide to join the company?
I came to this company for work experience when I was in high school. I remember not knowing anything at all, but I was able to do the work with the kind guidance of the full-time and part-time staff. I think that human relationships are the most important thing when continuing to work, so the personalities of the full-time and part-time staff who were easy to talk to were the deciding factor for me. Also, it was a hot summer, but the company was fully air-conditioned, so it was comfortable and the work environment was well-maintained. What shocked me most was how surprisingly clean the company was.
What is your current job?
While working as an operator, I also support other lines. The main job of an operator is to operate the machines. Since the specifications differ for each product, I adjust them to fit the specifications and produce them.
Also, since we are a company with a large number of part-time employees, I give instructions to the part-time employees on my line and work carefully to ensure that operations run smoothly.
Regarding follow-up for other lines, we have dedicated machines for each target pest or animal, and each has its own dedicated operator. We follow up when there are problems with the machines and receive consultations about production plans.
What is rewarding about your job?
I work with machines and make fine adjustments to production. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I improve each step with my own hands and achieve stable operation. Even if I can't adjust the machine properly, I can get help from my superiors and senior employees and learn how to solve the problem, so I can grow every day.
I am also in charge of training new employees, and I conduct training every day. Even if someone didn't know how to operate the machines or use the tools at first, as the training progresses they become able to do more and more things, and it makes me happy to see them grow. In particular, when I see someone with a great attitude toward their work, I feel like I can't lose to them.
What's good about SHIMADA?
We have the highest market share in Japan for mouse sticky boards, so you can feel safe and secure!
The employees get along well with each other, so you can talk freely about things you don't understand or worries you have at work.
The evaluation system has also been completely revamped, and now your hard work throughout the year is directly reflected in your salary, making the work environment more lively and comfortable than ever before.
There is SHIMADA KITCHEN, SHIMADA TERRACE, and a basketball court, each of which is stylish and uplifting. When the basketball court was first built, employees would gather during breaks or after work to play basketball. These facilities provide an opportunity to interact with people from other departments who you don't usually have much contact with. It is an environment where you can connect with a variety of people and communicate with them.
You can also enjoy delicious coffee at SHIMADA KITCHEN! A must-see for coffee lovers!!
Message for job seekers
We have an environment where we can provide training even to those who have never used tools or have no experience on a manufacturing line. In addition, you can receive necessary external training depending on your years of experience to improve your skills.
Recently, the number of production lines has increased and new machines have been introduced, and operation of the machines has become simpler, so even beginners can work with confidence.
I myself joined the company after graduating from high school (general education) and had no idea how the machines worked or how to use the tools, but my supervisor in charge of training taught me everything carefully, and now I'm on the training side.
As long as you have the will to learn, you will definitely see results, so please apply with confidence. I look forward to working with you.
