CI Promotion Department S
2018 New graduate

The excitement of wondering how much I can grow is what makes my job rewarding.

INTERVIEW

What made you decide to join the company?

During a round-table discussion during a company visit, I had the opportunity to speak with the current chairman, and I felt his passion for products and design. At that moment, I felt a rush of excitement and a strong desire to accomplish something here. I myself have always been interested in manufacturing, and this coincided with my feeling that "at SHIMADA, I feel like I can try anything," so it was only natural that I applied to join the company.

What is your current job?

As a design specialist in the CI Promotion Department, I am responsible for almost all aspects of creative work, primarily focusing on in-house package design and catalogs, but also including web banners, photography, and video editing.
We do outsource some work to external creators, but we strive to ensure smooth communication both inside and outside the company, including direction.

What is rewarding about your job?

It's a place where you can challenge yourself to do what you want, without being limited to the title of designer.
And the excitement of wondering how much I can grow as a person is what motivates me. Recently, I was even involved in the development of original uniforms as a project.

What's good about SHIMADA?

I think the company culture is one that encourages you to try anything.
I was initially assigned to the manufacturing department as a new graduate, but in order to utilize the design skills I had cultivated during my university years, I was given the opportunity to work on design-related tasks as well, and before I knew it, I was assigned to the CI Promotion Department (formerly the Product Department). At that time, I decided to do my absolute best in whatever I was able to do.
