Accounting department Mr. M
2024 New graduate

This is a company where many people think of ways to improve things and take action.

INTERVIEW

What made you decide to join the company?

The deciding factor for me to join the company was that I felt that the corporate culture was a good fit for me, and that this was a company where I could achieve what I wanted to do. The calm yet bright atmosphere that I had felt since I saw the company profile on their website was also felt when I visited the company for the first time. The employees I spoke to were also kind enough to expand on the topic, so I was able to attend the information session and interview with peace of mind, and I decided that I would like to work for this company.
It was also great that I received a job offer from the accounting department, where I could use the bookkeeping skills I had studied in my work.

What is your current job?

My work ranges from recording cash and bank deposit movements in the ledger and issuing invoices to attendance management, such as checking vacation notices, and payroll calculation tasks, such as tallying up overtime hours. There is a lot of the same work that is repeated every month, but as I get used to it and my work speed increases, I feel that I have the freedom to adjust my work content myself, so I can challenge myself to improve the efficiency of other tasks. In the future, I would like to study and gain more knowledge, so that I can increase the number of tasks I can do!

What is rewarding about your job?

There are times when there is a discrepancy between the amount recorded in the ledger and the actual amount of money in the bank. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I find which record is incorrect, correct it, and the numbers match up perfectly.
Another moment that makes me feel like I've grown is that I can now immediately tell which expenses fall into which categories, something that I couldn't do when I first joined the company.

What's good about SHIMADA?

I get the impression that many people act on the basis that "this is the best way to do things" when it comes to work methods and the work environment. I think it's a good environment because it's not something that can't be changed because the way things have been done up until now, but rather it's a place where you can think about and even implement ways to improve things. I also think that another good thing about SHIMADA is that the numbers show how easy it is to work there, with a high paid leave utilization rate and a low turnover rate for new graduates. Since I started working here, I've realized how grateful I am to have weekends and holidays off and to have a lot of annual holidays.

Message for job seekers

The points people place importance on when job hunting vary from person to person, and there are many options, such as the job content, philosophy, salary, company atmosphere, employee benefits, etc. If there is even one of these points that matches SHIMADA, I would like you to actually see the people and workplace at SHIMADA and consider that experience as one of your options when choosing a company. I think what you feel will be different for each person, but I hope that I have been able to convey at least a little of what is good about SHIMADA!
