At SHIMADA, we have many departments, not only in the production site, but also in research and development, purchasing and logistics, sales, quality control, and management.
Departments with a wide range of expertise work together to carry out their work.
Although each department has a different role, we all share the same goal of "pursuing comfortable lives for our customers through originality, ingenuity and honest manufacturing."

As the largest department in the company, we are responsible for the production of high-quality products. We have seen a remarkable increase in the number of young employees and the introduction of the latest equipment, including the work environment, and we supply hundreds of thousands of adhesive sheets to the world every day under strict quality control. On the other hand, we are not only efficient, but also have a culture of taking care of things and handling each sheet with sincerity. The manufacturing department is located in a clean environment that completely overturns the traditional image of the manufacturing industry. The gender ratio is 1% male and 1% female (including part-time employees). In the past year alone, 1 people in their 25s and 75s have joined the company, and the company has evolved into an even brighter and more powerful place.

Purchasing and Logistics Department
From material procurement to management,
Two specialties from product orders to shipping
You will be responsible for procuring raw materials for products, managing physical items and information inside and outside the company, receiving and shipping product orders from customers, and managing inventory. Depending on the circumstances of our customers, we may respond flexibly rather than relying solely on the manual, and we are highly regarded for our speedy work while adhering to compliance. Due to organizational restructuring in 2021, the Purchasing Department and Logistics Department were merged. Women are making remarkable advances in areas that were previously considered men's work, and the current male-female ratio is 50%:50%.

The Sales Department is an important department that aims to expand sales while developing new customers and strengthening relationships with existing customers. By creating sales plans and managing sales results, you will develop and execute strategies to achieve goals. In addition, by working with each department within the company, you will aim to improve customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships of trust with customers. Since our customers span a wide range of industries and markets, you will be required to respond flexibly to diverse needs. We will open a Tokyo sales office in February 2025 with the aim of further expanding sales.

Diverse talents and ideas
The Product Department is made up of two areas: Marketing & Public Relations and Design. Through product planning, sales promotion planning, PR activities, web management, and more, we disseminate information both inside and outside the company to enhance the value of the brand and the company, and we are also responsible for the design and production of product packaging, advertising, and sales promotion tools. Although much is left to the discretion of each employee and comes with a lot of responsibility, we have a creative environment where you can give shape to your ideas and visions.

The Research and Development Department is a department that verifies the effectiveness and safety of products and creates products based on solid evidence. It conducts field tests and various performance surveys, and also verifies the effectiveness in actual usage environments. Based on the data obtained, it is responsible for improving products, developing new products, and building evidence to support promotional materials.

The Accounting Department is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's finances. It plays a key role in accurately understanding the company's financial situation and supporting management. In 2024, the company's first new graduates were assigned to the department, bringing a breath of fresh air. Currently, as part of a company-wide IT initiative, the department is actively working to make paper-based operations, such as expense reimbursement applications, paperless.

The unsung hero
The General Affairs Department is responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the entire organization. In 2024, we merged with the IT Promotion Office, and fields such as information systems, legal affairs, and intellectual property were added to our existing duties. Currently, we are working hard to promote three pillars: ITization throughout the company, securing human resources which is becoming more difficult every year, and preparations for the expansion of branches and production bases. The scope of work is wide, but so is the rewarding work. It is a field where you can broaden your horizons and grow by interacting with many people inside and outside the company.
